I brought some gemstones to a gunfight.
As much as I loved doing it, I kind of got out of making bullet necklaces; partially because more and more people started making them, partially because I'd been making them for several years already and wanted to try out new ideas, and partially because I got tired of people asking me to tell them how I make them and where I get my supplies ("JUST BUY ONE!" I wanted to say, but of course I didn't). Lately I've had a lot of requests for more bullet necklaces, and because I really do love making them, I figured I'd start up again!
I've only got these four made and in
my shop right now, but I'm sure there will be quite a few more to follow. I don't know what it is about these necklaces - whether it's that they give me a reason to sort through boxes, bowls, and bins full of gorgeous stones, or that they give me a reason to do more shooting - but I think I'll always love making them.
That's about all the new jewelry I have for now, but I do have some pretty semi-precious stones waiting to be prong set and turned into pendants, and I also have some completely new ideas on the direction I want to take the Dinosaur Toes shop in the new year. I don't want to give out any hints, but I'm pretty excited about it (and I also hope things will turn out a rad as they look in my head)!
Last, I'm getting bangs. For several reasons. First, I'm rapidly approaching the ripe and near-barren age of 31, and I've just been feeling like I needed a different hairstyle because - with a few
very brief (and quite thin) exceptions - I've always had hair sans bangs. Second, I saw the picture above at
Married to the Mob and fell in love. I want that hair; I
need that hair. I also want those eyebrows. And eyes. Actually, can I just be her twin? I hope so. What a babe. Third, all the cool kids have bangs and I don't want to be a dork. My hair appointment is on January 11th and I'm awaiting that day like I await Christmas morning.
