Ceresio 7 Pool Bar & Restaurant by Storage & Dimore Studio for DSQUARED² // Milan. (Yellowtrace)

Ceresio 7 is a rooftop Pool Bar & Restaurant located in a historical 1930s building from the Fascist era in Milan. The site previously housed the offices of the national electricity company, and is now the home of the Canadian fashion house DSQUARED². Commissioned by Dean and Dan Caten, twin brothers behind DSQUARED², Ceresio 7 has quickly become a social hotspot climbing the charts as the hottest place to be in Milan. But enough of the PR talk – let’s get down to why I really like this place.

I have two magic words for you - Dimore Studio. Boom! Pretty much anything these two boys touch turns to gold, and Ceresio 7 is no exception. Working with Storage Studio who were in charge of architecture, Dimore’s signature aesthetic – exquisite, eclectic and generally “all class” – is evident in this sophisticated interior. There’s is a great tension between the bling of polished brass and plush velvets mixed with the retro feel and warm timber surfaces. A faithful and authentic throwback to the 1930s, with many of original period pieces and sharp new ones that blend together without missing a beat.

Outside, vintage blue sofas match the colour of the swimming pools, which reflect the skyscrapers in the newly built Fiera area (Milan’s financial district). This is where all the beautiful people can be found, effortlessly posing in their D&G budgie smugglers and Cavalli swimwear, having indulged in the lettuce-only-no-dressing-no-sugar-like-ever “lunch”.

I know what you’re thinking – “So… Dana, will you be visiting this place during your upcoming trip to Milan for Salone del Mobile“? You betcha. Although, I can’t say I’ll be rocking out poolside in my Cavalli swimmers. Better stop eating them carbs before I can do that. Which will happen, errr… – never!
