Über PYT: How To Wear The Loose Fit
Hoy inicio con una nueva serie de posts educativos, o más bien demostrativos, junto a mis amigas de Über Shop. Una vez al mes les mostraremos diferentes maneras de usar una tendencia específica, un tipo de silueta, un modelo de zapato, un color, etc. Hay veces que uno ve algo en las pasarelas, en las calles, en la tele o en las revistas y decimos “qué cool!” pero no tenemos idea como adaptarlo a nuestro cuerpo o nuestro estilo. Y aunque yo nunca les voy a decir que algo está “bien” o está “mal”, porque cada quien puede y debe ponerse lo que quiera, sí les puedo dar un par de sugerencias para que ustedes hagan de las suyas con la moda y la disfruten como se debe.
El día de hoy vamos con la ropa holgada; este look, en alguna de sus variaciones, emana una vibra bohemia y relajada; en otras puede ser un poco más estructurado y minimalista… Más sporty.
En el primer look, llevo puesto un vestido Cameo de Über Shop súper cuadrado y arquitectónico por lo que decidí usarlo con unos zapatos igual de geométricos y de tacón, para agregarle altura al look y largo a mis piernas, aprovechando que el traje es corto. Como el traje tiene un estilo deportivo, decidí usarlo con un backpack; y para no distraer de la forma del cuello y las mangas tan diferentes, decidí recogerme el cabello en un low bun.
En el segundo look, llevo un jumpsuit largo Finders Keepers de Über Shop. Para este decidí también darle altura con unos tacones, pero sin plataforma ni tacón grueso, ya que la idea es que se vea liviano y que además estilice, aprovechando que ésta pieza visualmente alarga ya que comienza en mis hombros y termina sobre mis pies sin interrupción; y que además tiene una tira vertical en la espalda; que de paso es escotada por lo que decidí hacerme una cola baja para mostrarla.
En el tercer look holgado, llevo un vestido Keepsake y un saco Cameo de Über Shop. En este caso, la idea es crear un balance entre lo masculino del saco holgado y lo femenino del vestido; que entalla divino, por cierto. Tiene un escote parecido al sweetheart (como en forma de corazón), ya que la parte del pecho es parecido a un bustier, o un corsé. Es sumamente pegado hasta la cintura y después se abre en una falda semi-voluminosa, tipo skater dress. Es decir, acentúa todas las curvas correctas; y por eso me pareció interesante combinarlo con lo opuesto: recto, holgado y masculino. Y es que esta tendencia trata mucho también con las proporciones y nos invita a jugar con ellas; a contrastarlas.

Today marks the beginning of a new series of posts I have in store for you together with my friends at Über Shop. Once a month we will be exploring a given trend, silhouette, shoe, color, etc. Sometimes we see something we like on the runways, magazines, television or street but have no idea how to adapt it to our styles or bodies. And, although I’m never going to tell you wearing something is “right” or “wrong”, I can give you some suggestions in the hopes that you will feel comfortable enough to explore something new and enjoy, play with fashion, as one should.
So on today’s Über PYT How To post, were looking at the loose fit. In some iterations, this look gives out a bohemian, relaxed vibe. In others, it can be more of a minimalist, sporty look.
In the first outfit, I’m wearing a very boxy Cameo dress from Über Shop, which I decided to pair with equally geometric shoes –heels actually, to give myself some height and elongate my legs, because the dress is rather short so why the hell not?! Since its got a bit of an athletic thing going on, I thought I’d style it with a backpack. And finally, since the sleeves and neckline are so pretty, I showed them off with my hair pulled back on a low bun.
In the next outfit, I am wearing a long, baggy jumpsuit by Finders Keepers from Über Shop. For this look, I also decided to give it some height and wear it with heels, specifically not of the chunky or the platform variety because what I wanted was to make the look seem light and airy, and take advantage of the vertical quality of the jumpsuit which starts at my shoulders and ends, without interruption, at my feet; so it can be quite elongating. The back is very open so I pulled by hair back in a low ponytail to show it off as well.
Finally, in the third look I am wearing a Keepsake dress and Cameo blazer from Über Shop. This one is all about balancing between the feminine qualities of the dress and the masculine quality of the blazer. The dress, by the way, has an amazing fit. It has a bustier style cleavage and it’s very fitted at the torso, down to the waist, where it flares out and opens to a semi-full miniskirt. So, almost like a skater dress silhouette. In other words, it hugs all the right curves, so I thought it could be interesting to pair with the complete opposite; baggy and masculine. The thing is, this trend is very much about proportions and playing with them, contrasting one against another.
