NARS Night Caller Collection for Fall 2014 is a modern twist to your typical fall colour collection. I received three products from the 9-piece collection, so get ready for this metallic, glittery goodness from the brilliant mind of Francois Nars.

Jardin Perdu Duo Eyeshadow ($39) is a metallic duo of dove grey and amethyst. Both shades impart an intense metallic sheen, which, on the lids, translates to a multi-dimensional colour that may look deeper than the colour in the pan. They are smooth and ridiculously pigmented in one pass.

It’s interesting to see the progression of duo eyeshadow shades from the NARS seasonal collections. Does Jardin Perdu look familiar to you? Well, you may have seen it before. Sort of. As a makeup nerd, stuff like this is kinda cool to see. Obviously, NARS is crushing on greys and purples this year. Check it out against Kauai and Lost Coast.

Night Flight Eyeliner ($28) is described as a black with a cobalt blue pearl, but I also see silver pearl in this. I really like this formula. It’s smooth, pigmented and lasts a long time. Even after a midday post-gym shower, this hung on to my lash lines (with about 50% fading, but no melting off). To me that is great. The pearl pigments didn’t irritate or fall into my eyes.

This was the most anticipated product for me in this collection: meet Unlawful Blush ($33), described as an amber pink with silver pearls. And by pearls, they meant glitter. But don’t be scared, this glitter actually very pretty. On me, the blush wears as a medium peach. At a distance, the glitter translates into radiance instead of disco ball. The base formula itself does have a sheen, so tap off the glitter if you’re not keen on it, and keep the gorgeous post-summer glow that Unlawful brings to your cheeks. I love this one! It’s a keeper.
