(imaginary) corners of my home | 06

ok, ok, i confess. this is not a real corner of my home, but is instead an imaginary dining corner that my current humble abode is far too small to contain.

this weekend i went along to the newly-opened another country store in marylebone for the first of a series of style sessions that are being run as part of the brand’s #anothersummer campaign. along with my good friend – and new business partner(!) – daniel, we were given the opportunity to style up a corner of the showroom using the furniture on display and props for their ‘evergreen’ collection.

inspired by the glorious sunshine in london this past week, we decided to style up a leisurely lunchtime shot full of the joys of lazy summer days spent with friends, utilising food produce foraged from the local neighbourhood. well, when you’re around the corner from la fromagerie it would be rude not to pay a visit!

the generous proportions and pleasing contrast of pale ash table top on walnut trestle legs drew us to the series two dining table, which we felt offered the perfect setting for gathering friends together to muse over the week’s trials and tribulations. we served our artisan cheese and crackers on pieces from the another pottery series, the creamy stoneware crockery and terracotta accent vessels working wonderfully alongside soft irish linens from 31 chapel lane to enhance the casual, lingering dining experience we were hoping to imbue the scene with. the ambience was completed with the addition of scatter cushions from the soft series textile range by ruth duff along the seating bench; i’ve been lusting after the small stars cushions for a while now, seduced by the modern take on a traditional jacquard weave in soft-muted colourways which combine comfort and function with graphic pattern in a very unique and dynamic way.

what do you think guys, would you like to come and join us for lunch? i can promise scintillating conversation and perhaps even some dancing on the table, given enough wine…
