Perfect Pair: SinfulColors Citrine & CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat

This isn’t going to be a normal post. Fair warning!

Last week I made my way down to Auburn for the spring football game. We actually stayed on Lake Martin which is about half an hour outside of Auburn. We had wonderful time.

I fully intended to take a complete break from even caring about my nails (though I never go anywhere without my Smith’s Rosebud Salve….I wasn’t going to neglect my cuticles!) so I had no intention of doing a post on my manicure. But, as it turned out I was so impressed that I just have to share! Plus I still have a bit of vacation lag so I’m not quite back into the groove of things yet.

SinfulColors Citrine has become my go to Auburn orange polish. I wanted a low maintenance mani for the weekend so I just did a full manicure with Citrine and topped it with CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat. I’ve done a wear test with that top coat and it did wear extremely well but that was in conjunction with a CND Vinylux Weekly polish. This is the first time I’ve used the CND top coat over a regular polish (if you will..).

I took the bottle of Citrine with me (along with my base coat, top coat and polish remover!) thinking I’d need to redo my nails at least once during the weekend. As it turned out, I wore this manicure for 6 days without a single chip (seriously).

Citrine is a polish I wear quite often and while I don’t recall having any wear issues with the polish I certainly don’t remember it ever wearing this well. So I think it’s safe to assume that the CND Vinylux Top Coat is the reason why my manicure lasted 6 days with just some minor tip wear.

To say the least from now on if I need my manicure to really last I will be using the CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat!

CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat is on the expensive side though you can find it a bit less expensive on Amazon.

Below the jump you will find a couple of pictures of my nails on day 6 as well as other pictures from my long weekend in Alabama.

And as always, War Eagle! TDV will be back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow. I promise
