Essie Summit of Style

It’s that time of year. The 2014 essie Luxeffects collection has landed. There are 6 polishes included in the display but only 2 new polishes; Summit of Style and Rock at the Top. The others are, Set in Stone (Luxeffects 2011), No Place Like Chrome, Good as Gold, Penny Talk (Mirror Metallics 2012). Essentially what essie has done here is produce a corresponding glitter for each metallic shade. Certainly an interesting concept.

Summit of Style is a rose gold / copper glitter top coat with various sized hex glitter suspended in a clear base. Not the most unique polish ever but I have to say essie did a wonderful job with this polish. I used just one coat in my swatches and my nails were packed with plenty of glitter. The formula was easy to work with and I didn’t have to manipulate the glitter at all.

This is the kind of glitter top coat that can really transform a manicure. And this is a color that can go over just about anything. This is also a great top coat if, like me, you can’t wear traditional yellow gold glitter toppers.

The 2014 Luxeffects display should be hitting Ulta and drugstores in the very near future. Summit of Style is included in the Essie Luminously Luxe Manicure set (the packaging so cute!).
