Iron Bowl 2014 Manicure

It’s hard for me to believe the 2013 Iron Bowl was a year ago. I was in Jordan-Hare Stadium when Chris Davis ran it back 109 yards and the ground literally moved. But what I really remember about that play is my brother looking at me when Chris was at about the Bama 40 yard line and yelling over the crowd “CAN HE DO THAT!?”. I remember grabbing him, shaking him and screaming “YES OH MY GOD WE’RE GOING TO WIN!”.

I had never cried at a sporting event until that day. And it really had nothing to do with football and everything to do with family. My brother and I had just watched one of the greatest moments in sports history unfold on the same field my grandfather walked across in 1942 to accept his diploma.

My now 93 year old grandfather will be going with me and my brother to Heist Brewery to watch the 2014 installment of the Iron Bowl with the Charlotte Auburn Club. Of course, I won’t be going to any watch party without an appropriate manicure!

I decided to go with tiger stripe nails. I used SinfulColors Citrine as a base then used a white and black striper to create the stripes.

To round out the manicure I added an accent nail with Nina Ultra Pro Sailor then added Essie Peak of Chic just on the tip. I was hoping Peak of Chic would look like hair. I’m not sure I achieved that exactly but I do like the way it turned out.

Under the jump you will find swatches of my 2014 Iron Bowl manicure and some of the 2013 throwback pictures I’ve been posting this week from last year’s Iron Bowl.
