Ever since I ditched my Urban Decay Naked 1 palette, I have searched for a great warm neutral palette to fill the void. Naked was nice, but I did find the matte shades to be a touch too warm. It also had a couple shades that were too frosty. I think I have found my perfect replacement with Too Faced Chocolate Bar.
The metal case is supposed to look like an actual bar of chocolate, and the eyeshadows are chocolate scented. If you have the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, these smell similar. I love the scent- a light and sweet vanilla smell.
The names of the shadows are on a clear insert, though I wish they were printed on the package instead.
Chocolate Bar has a wonderful mix of warm brown, gold, burgundy, and even a purple and light pink. The textures are nicely varied- mattes and shimmers.
A few of the shades have heavier shimmer, which needs to be tapped off before applying to the eye. I can forgive that minor fault, since the other shades are outstanding!
Gilded Ganache is a deep satin brown. White Chocolate is a matte cream colored shade. Salted Caramel is a light peachy matte brown. Marzipan is a shimmery peach gold. Semi-Sweet is a warm matte brown. Hazelnut is a subtly shimmering neutral brown. Créme Brulee is a shimmery light gold. Haute Chocolate is a shimmering fawn brown.
Mlk chocolate is a matte ochre shaded brown. Black Forest Truffle is a warm purplish brown with silver shimmer. Triple Fudge is a matte greyish brown. Strawberry Bon Bon is a light matte pink. Candied Violet is a sheer shimmery blue purple. Amaretto is a warm reddish bronze. Cherry Cordial is a matte burgundy. Champagne Truffle is a shimmery light pink.
Overall, I am loving these colors for an easy neutral look! The shadows apply smoothly and have great pigment (except the more finicky Candied Violet and Strawberry Bon Bon). I highly recommend Too Faced Chocolate Bar for an everyday neutral palette.
