Down By The River

One of the many stops on our “Destination Dixie” adventure was the Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. We arrived at our giant cabin, completely off GPS radar, at around 1am…and I swear to you, driving up the winding roads felt like a scene from a horror movie. Pitch black, nothing around…arriving to discover red paint stains on the driveway, which I obviously immediately assumed to be blood.

The house, the view, and nature surrounding was all breathtakingly beautiful. The dead ladybugs that covered the floor of our Air BNB, not so much. I have always thought of ladybugs to be a good luck charm, so clearly when I found them dying all around me, I assumed it to be some sort of haunted voodoo shit. After promptly googling, I found out this is normal for the Smoky Mountains around wintertime and was able to chillax a bit.

I think this, next to Nashville, may have been my favorite stop along our tour. Sometimes it takes quieting your mind, channeling that creative energy, removing distractions and working together to develop an inspiring campaign. We wandered all over, and shot these photos just before dusk. Thank goodness we threw that blanket in the trunk! #lifesaver
