Summer like woah.

Hello blog! Slacker of the century over here. I don’t think people really read blogs as much in the summer so I’m using that as my excuse for not being here in 3 weeks. Also, that baby guy in my tummy trying to escape, hot weather that has me pretty much chained to the kiddie pool and a 4.5 year old out of school and as crazy as the days are long. All of your excuses are belong to me.

Summer has been great so far! Grilling on the deck almost nightly, a nice big birthday party for Scot’s 30th, kayaking and fireworks at the in-laws, playdates with friends and finalizing things for baby brother. It’s getting exciting around here (35 weeks and just about 2cm dilated as of this morning – stuff is happening! Holy shite). It feels like I’ve been pregnant forever and also feels as if there is NO WAY we can be here already. I’m in that zone where I’m really ready to be done yet not ready at all because holy life changing event, batman. I cannot wait to lay my eyes on this little guy, but am simultaneously trying to soak up every last second of our family of 3. I know life will be more amazing, but a large part of me mourns this only thing I’ve known for over 4 years. It’s going to be a trip in so many ways.

Even though I’m large and in charge and most days I have to laugh at myself because I’m literally waddling, we’ve been staying busy as much as my body allows. Harper is about to start soccer, and has some day camps coming up. We visit the library often. I know our days are numbered so as much as I’d love to sit around making loud sighs, I get myself together and we go and do. We bought a sweet $20 kiddie pool from Target and it’s saving my life. She LOVES it and I can get my belly float on while cooling off. Best twenty bucks of life. I’ve considered birthing in that thing, for reals. It’s magical.

I do have things to share – photos from my real camera, stories, a post brewing about my thoughts on becoming a mother of 2, and hopefully very soon, a little tour of our sons nursery that we’ve been putting together for him. It’s simple and I love it. But I know you guys are just as busy if not more than I am, so it will all come as time allows. I thought I’d be blogging more as my pregnancy progressed, but I’m wrong a lot. You can always follow our daily haps over on my Instagram (@teammandy), and don’t forget to follow us on Bloglovin’ or other reader since Google took Reader way a few weeks ago (LAME). Mister man will be here soon and I can’t wait to share him with all of you. I’ve been working pretty hard on baking him. It’s involved a metric shit ton of crushed ice and enough lucky charms to choke a unicorn.
