Weekend fun.

Yes, that’s right I said fun! This weekend and last weekend were pretty awesome. I have been feeling pretty good lately, with icky days being very few and far between. At over 18 weeks I say FINALLY. Good gravy, that was a long bumpy disgusting ride I’m really happy to be off of. In extremely exciting news, we find out the sex of the baby on Wednesday! Let the Pinterest nursery and baby clothing obsessing BEGIN.

So this weekend! Saturday we went to a fun little event at the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle, put on by Target. It was a family event with a delicious lunch of various Asian foods, art projects for the kiddos, and we got to explore the museums many exhibits. The museum itself is gorgeous, and although it was great for kids, I’d love to go back without the kiddo so I could really get into everything we saw. It’s in the International District and focuses on the history of Pacific Asian Americans. There were so many things I wanted to stop and investigate but the kiddo was pretty focused on her scavenger hunt (the prize was a dragon temporary tattoo, so like, I get it).

We got to see our friends Chelsea and Lily and Rachel and family, which was awesome. It was a great afternoon and H had a blast, which made me very happy to see her happy. It’s been a rough month and this outing as a family was just what we needed.

If you’re local to the Puget Sound, I recommend checking the museum out. Admission is very reasonably priced (kids under 5 are free!) and every first Thursday and third Saturday of the month are free.

Sunday we started on our “list of things to do before this baby comes out and we don’t do anything for a long time because of sleep and other reasons” by painting our dining room. We used the same color we used on the wall in our kitchen back in the fall, Schoolhouse Slate by Martha Stewart. I’m obsessed with this color. It’s not kosher to paint every room in your entire house blue-gray but if it were, you can bet I’d do it. It’s that good.

I swear one of these days (maybe when the list is done?) I will share more photos of our place. I like the dining room so much more now. Plans for the future include putting in French doors where that slider is and Scot building a nice big farm kitchen table. Also maybe extending that pretty hardwood in, but money sure doesn’t grow on trees now does it? These are all things in my money-filled dreams. Also, West Elm lighting. Okay, moving on. We painted! It was cheap and looks great!

Then we ate our weight in corned beef, thanks to my mom. It was glorious. High fives and Carlton dances all over this weekend.
