Hello 2014

Happy New Year! Please excuse the belatedness of the greeting, I took some time away from this blog to refresh and recuperate. I hope you all had a good festive season. It is good to be back.For those of you who have stuck around, thank you for being awesome and patient with me. I am looking forward to sharing interesting and beautiful things with you this year, as well as adding some new features. To start things off, I want to share a mix of things that I have bookmarked over the last few months but haven’t had time to post about – a little visual spring clean if you will.

Talented photographer Brian Ferry captured the lovely brownstone house of Lena Corwin and her family for Remodelista.

Felicita Sala is a talented Italian illustrator whose whimsical style is imbued with colour and energy. I particularly liked her illustrated recipes that not only look beautiful but seem to be rather tasty too. You can pick up a print by Felicita’s via her online store.

This photograph titled Murphysboro, Illinois, 1971 by Robert Holmgren is all kinds of wonderful.

Speaking of recipes, I’m dying to try this whipped honey recipe from Sunday Suppers.

This green vegetable minestrone soup from Healthy Chef also looks damn delicious.

I love this cover for New York Magazine’s December 2013 issue, featuring a photograph by Saul Leiter and lettering by Erik Marinovich.

Logo and branding for Ingierstrand Bad ”a newly refurbished restaurant located on the shore of Norway’s Oslofjord that balances the area’s history as a 1930′s summer retreat with a contemporary dining experience” designed by Oslo-based agency Uniform.

Although I’m not a fan of Damien Hirst, but his collaboration with fashion label Alexander McQueen that resulted in a limited edition range of silk scarves is delicate and elegant.

Each month, vintage clothing and lingerie boutique, The Loved One, choses a theme to curate their sartorial offerings. I really like this photo essay, where co-founder Hannah Metz channels iconic teenage detective Nancy Drew for their September 2013 theme.
