Vanilla infused tea and coffee



Do you ever use your spent vanilla pods? I used to feel pretty bad for binning them, since they were still so fragrant. So recently I started to re-use them to flavour my morning coffee or tea. I just stir in a piece of a spent vanilla pod into the freshly brewed tea and it gives such an instant flavour boost, especially with fruit and green teas. As far as coffee goes, I add about a quarter of it to my morning portion of coffee beans before grinding them, followed by usual brewing routine. This little trick makes our morning coffee irresistible. You should try it.

P.S: Also, you might fancy making a vanilla coffee syrup.
