Lierac Magnificence Gel Cream Moisturizer Review: For Matte, Moisturized Skin

For those with combination skin, finding a good moisturizer that doesn’t turn to an unflattering “glow” by the end of the day is a challenge. There are a few gel moisturizers on the market that fill the gap. Nonetheless, Lierac Magnificence Gel ($78/ 1.7 oz.) goes the extra mile by adding a matte finish. Having worn this day and night for the past several days, I can say that this product is:

  • breathable and featherweight-light
  • works well alone and under foundation
  • delivers moisturized, healthy looking skin, and
  • provides a matte surface that avoids the “3 p.m. glow” that other moisturizers can cause.

Sometimes I’m tempted to avoid moisturizers because of a heavy feeling, or the thought that skin that produces oil throughout the day doesn’t really need it. It always seems counterintuitive to me that, despite my oily forehead, product specialists would tell me that my face did need moisture. They were right of course, my skin looks far more healthy with a dose of moisturize (as is the case for most people, even those with combination or oily skin).

Leirac’s Magnificence delivers surprisingly good results. Wrinkles seemed softened, my skin seemed firmer, and the texture seems far less stressed out. The primary ingredients are:

D-Glyox Complex (Pomegranate Flower, Silk Tree, Liposome Peptide) helps reduce the visible signs of skin aging at the source Hibiscus Flower Extract improves radiance, evens out skin texture and refines pores.

A full ingredient list is here:

Overall, I was really impressed. Lovely formulation, no afternoon “glow,” but really delivers on healthy-looking. lit-from-within, firmed and pore-minimzed skin.
