Lullaby chalkboard paint review

A few weeks a go I was contacted by Lullaby paints to see if I was interested in a review* of their chalkboard paint, it seemed like it was meant to be! A few months before that I had painted one of my sewing room’s doors with magnetic paint, it was a disaster! Ok maybe not a disaster, but definitely not strong enough to be used as a magnetic board to hold inspiration (my original plan) So for months I avoided the inevitable, I was going to have to figure what to do with that door. Well, that is not a problem any more: here it is my chalkboard door!

One of the things I loved the most about the paint is that all of their paints are baby safe, something I wish I had researched before painting Conner’s nursery. My original plan was to have a chalkboard wall there, but changed my mind later, maybe for baby number 2 =)

The Lullaby chalkboard paint kit comes with everything you’ll need to tackle your project: a roller, tray, chalk, edging tape and a little instruction manual. In my case the door was completely removed since I had to sand the door due to my previous bad experience with magnetic paint. Ken helped me with the hard part and I took it to my deck and sand away, I gave the first coat outside and then the next day (you have to wait at least 6 hours for the next coat) for the second coat.

I loved the way it looks, the green was perfect for the sewing room of my studio, and to showcase the chalk I decided to add on of my latest favorite quotes from Winnie the Pooh:

“You are braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think”
- Christopher Robin

I sketched the quote on paper first while my new intern played around on the office. I am going to make this a print too, so stay tuned, I will listed on my shop once its done.

I loved the paint and the fact I didn’t need to buy any other tools or supplies to paint the door was awesome, it covered very well and I got a little bit left over that I plan on using it on a panel of my studio’s front door, so that once Conner is older enough he can play there instead of MY door

Conner loved to watch me play with the door and kept asking for me to give him the chalk, but he’ll have to wait a little longer for that!

So excited to cross one more thing on my office to-do list, we are getting closer to full the reveal!! YAY =) for now here you all got another “wall” sneak peek.
I hope you all have a lovely day!
XOXO
