Waffle Knit

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY! I slept the first few hours of being 23 at the When In Manila Rockeoke Christmas Party, which I found to be a good way to start this age. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna start to mellow down soon, but while I still have the energy to drag my ass out the door and do a lil bit of mingling, might as well do so. After all, 22 wasn’t exactly a walk-in-the-park age for me. Starting my 23rd on a high-energy note is the only way to go.

December is actually a favorite month not only because of my birthday, but also because of the series of festivities that happen during this time of the year. I love the extra effort everyone exerts when it comes to gathering friends and family and finding common times to spend together.

With that said, time to line up those party dresses, ladies! Here, I’m wearing a simple white waffle knit dress from 101 New York which I got off of Zalora Philippines. At first glance, I thought this would be great only for casual get-togethers, like, say, having brunch with your girl friends. Something during the daytime, basically.

But I had the Martin Solveig party at Republiq and Zedd party at SMX coming up at the time I got the dress, so I wanted to freshen the look up and make it more club party-appropriate. I tied around a button-down and slipped on a comfy pair of heels—ones that allowed me to stand up and dance for hours. This look ended up being one of my easiest party looks to date, in my opinion.

My birthday is also my own personal reminder that Christmas is just a week away! I’m almost done with the gift shopping and I should start gift-wrapping soon. I just have to get a few more things for the family and I’m good to go.
