The special thing about writing a blog is that sometimes, once in a while, people read it. Then they come back a few times, tell their friends, come back some more, and eventually this invisible bond forms between the blogger and her readers -- it's almost like when 2-become-1 according to the Spice Girls, however, far more PG. Anyway, surprise! We've been in a relationship for a few years now. But don't worry -- you don't need to tell your parents yet.

The thing about relationships though is that sometimes they have to end, and break-ups aren't always sad or because someone did something wrong or because someone says "it's not you, it's me" (but you know, it's probably you) but sometimes they just need to end because it's time.

Writing this blog has been an amazing experience. The things I've done! The things I've seen! The time I became the face of hair removal in Canada! The time I cried walking up to the tents for the first time at a real fashion week! The time I accidentally dated Mark Salling for 15 seconds on Entertainment Tonight! (I'm never letting that one go.) The times I see you out and you tweet me, or tell me you read my blog, or this conversation happens: "Hey do you have a fashion blog?" Me: YES! "Cool, is it called Cupcakes and Cashmere?" Me: Uh, yeah. That's the one. "Oh my god I love you!"

All of this and so, so, so much more has been great. Although I won't be blogging as A Haute Mess, I still invite you to keep up with me regardless because I just can't quit you.
