CP Gal Subject Gallery: Oh Darling Pocket Mini Album - Jeanette Lee

It's been a while since we last brought you a Crate Paper 'oh so darling' mini album at the Crate Paper blog. This one includes pockets with embellishment-sprinkled removable inserts that fit perfectly inside semi-transparent glassine envelopes. Surely, you'll adore each and every page!

.......

Hey CP Fans, Jeanette Lee here to present to you a simple travel pocket envelope album. The month of June calls for vacation time and the travel fanatic (which is me!) took lots of photographs that I'm totally eager to compile into a keepsake album of a special kind.

To get started, I selected six glassine bags/envelopes. I folded one side of each envelope to create a temporary binder for the construction of the album. Next, I used strong adhesives to bind the envelopes together. Lastly, I snipped off the opposite ends of each envelope to create 'openings'. To secure the whole album, I opted for ribbon. It prevents the pages from falling out.

The reason I chose this album style is simple–to make room for small inserts which conveniently fit inside the 'envelope' pages. They're easy to pull out and look at, and are complemented by side tabs from the Oh Darling and Styleboard collections.

Each insert has a recurring theme which creates consistency and brings the album together. As you can see, each photo hosts a frame of some kind. The inserts are adorned with chipboard, sticker elements, vellum and buttons. They lend a pleasing 'bulky' feel to the album.

On this particular page, I opted for a different approach–I created a side tab that accommodates two photos. The technique emulates a film strip similar to a movie scene and presents in chronological order. For this page, I combined a before and after photo of the same place, one in pristine condition and the other, a rare sight of double rainbows over a waterfalls' horizons. Talk about a fun way to use a photo frame, too!

An album isn't complete without journaling. I filled in the pages with words and rub ons to remember aspects of the trip that I wanted to reminisce about for years to come.

Thank you for having me here today. The next time you sit down to scrapbook a mini album, go with envelopes and matching inserts! Here's wishing you safe travels and happy returns, wherever you are heading to!
