Ouidad Superfruit Clarifying Shampoo Review!

Ouidad’s newest launch is Superfruit Renewal Clarifying Cream Shampoo ($18) and a welcome addition it is! Move over curly haired girls, I like Ouidad too! I realize that the brand has a stellar reputation as the go-to curly girls, but I’m here to tell you there is lots to love for us straight haired girls too! I adore the Playcurl volume line, especially the Voluminizing Foam and the spray and now the Superfruit Renewal Clarifying Cream Shampoo too!

Since I am basically a flathead (though Ouidad did help me find my inner curls), I use a LOT of product in my hair and it gets too dry if I wash it everyday so I only wash every other day. This creates a build-up of product that dulls my color and weighs down my fine hair. Leave-in conditioners are the main culprits. but styling products build up quickly too. I was browsing the haircare aisle at my local Ulta looking for a clarifying shampoo and I was gobsmacked that I couldn’t find one! Not one single brand! Thankfully the good people from Ouidad emailed me the very next day to offer a sample of their fantastic Superfruit Renewal Clarifying Cream Shampoo. Thank you Hair Gods… or Gods of Hair? Whateves, I’m just glad I got my hands on this shampoo (by the way, Ulta had it in stock a few weeks later).

Superfruit Renewal™ Clarifying Cream Shampoo is a gentle, purifying, sulfate-free shampoo that is infused with a blend of superfruit acids that removes product build up, hard water minerals, and residue simultaneously. Ideal for those with curls, this hydrating cream formula also appeals to all textures experiencing hair dullness and a loss in vibrancy and shine. Most clarifying shampoos strip color and leave hair dry–not this one! Oh my gosh, my hair feels so clean, soft, and remarkably renewed and revived. But the best part? The color is bright and shiny: this shampoo does double-duty as a color preserving shampoo! I know it’s not billed as that, but WOW did my color perk up! Maybe it’s just getting all that built-up junk out, I don’t know, but it sure is a nice benefit!

Superfruit Renewal™ Clarifying Cream Shampoo has the consistency of a cleansing conditioner (like Wen), though not quite as thick. It is definitely a cream though, versus a regular shampoo and needs additional rinse time. It is highly moisturizing, makes hair soft as silk and is sulfate free! I’m in LOVE with the luscious grapefruit scent!

Directions: Using fingertips, gently massage through wet hair and scalp. Leave in hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse with warm water. If you are a regular user of leave-in conditioners or styling products, you should clarify your hair weekly to remove excess build-up. Ouidad Superfruit Renewal™ Clarifying Cream Shampoo makes my hair SO soft I like to use it at night because my style doesn’t last if I try to style it after shampooing with this in the morning–that’s just my hair though–it’s very fine and has no texture. Your mileage may vary.
