Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows Review

Happy Tuesday! Today I’ve got the new Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadows for you. There are ten shades in this initial release. They are talc free and paraben free, but some of the shades say ‘may contain carmine’. Each shade is .064 oz (1.8g)

Makeup Geek eyeshadows are cruelty free.

About the Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows
With these rich and intensely-hued shades, the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows go beyond your standard line of cosmetics, introducing you to a new and powerful cosmetic experience. This cutting-edge formula offers a creamy texture that is a hybrid between a powder shadow and a cream shadow that is on a level of its own.

Price
$89.99 for the set of 10
$9.99 for individual shades

The formula is sort of like pressed pigment, very loosely packed into the pan. So while one of my shades arrived cracked, after I swatched it, it pressed back together.

I felt like Center Stage, Houdini and Caitlin Rose were less pigmented than the rest, though they could be built up.

All shades swatched on Coastal Scents Step One primer.

Magic Act
Light gold with yellow undertones and a foiled finish
My Take
glowy light gold. This is a pretty, eye brightening shade.

Caitlin Rose
Bright amethyst purple with a foiled finish
My Take
This one had to be built up. It’s a glowy purple. My favorite of the bunch! All profits of Caitlin Rose go towards Batten Disease support and research. See more here.

Jester
Bright mossy green with slight gold undertones and a foiled finish
My Take
pretty green with golden tones. Makes me think of olives.

Houdini
Deep emerald teal green with a foiled finish.
My Take
This one had to be built up. It’s a deep smoky emerald with teal tones

Center Stage
Bright royal blue with a foiled finish
My Take
This one had to be built up. Beautiful royal blue.

Mesmerized
Deep medium taupe with strong purple undertones and a foiled finish
My Take
Deep taupe with purple undertone.

Showtime
Rusty brown with warm undertones and a foiled finish
My Take
Red-toned brown. It’s less foiled than the rest.

Grandstand
Medium rose gold with slight taupe undertones and a foiled finish
My Take
Beautiful rose gold metallic. If you love rose golds, you’ll be drooling over this.

In The Spotlight
Soft pink with coral undertones and a foiled finish
My Take
Eye brightening peach. A perfect lid shade.

Flame Thrower
True brightened warm copper with a foiled finish
My Take
Intense copper.

The collection feels warm-toned to me overall, and there are lots of neutrals. All ten of the eyeshadows are nice, though Caitlin Rose, Houdini and Center Stage appear to be less pigmented to me than the rest of the shades. Caitlin Rose, Magic Act, and In the Spotlight are glowy shades that I feel are eye brighteners. Showtine, Mesmerized, Center Stage and Houdini are good shade for shading or the crease.

The three eyeshadows that I wore – Caitlin Rose, Houdini and Magic Act wore all day on eyeshadow primer for me. I didn’t experience any creasing. I did experience a bit of transfer from Caitlin Rose, but I have very hooded eyes.

What do you think of the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows? What sort of shades would you like to see added?
