Hello gentle readers.
OPI Push and Shove from the Gwen Stefani Collection creates that near mirror finish in an easy-peasy two step system. First, a special base coat, Lay Down the Base is applied and allowed to dry. This only takes a minute or so. Then, Push and Shove goes on in two thin, easy coats. As this polish is applied, it looks brushstroke-y and a bit of a mess, but then something magical happens, right before your eyes. As it dries, it bonds with the base coat, hardens and smooths and suddenly, the brush strokes are gone and the finish is super shiny and near mirror perfect. It is the wackiest thing.
Push and shove is very easy to work with and apply. I had to do very little cleanup as it sits down where it is placed, doesn't run or pool or give other trouble. I didn't have any dragging, streaking or bubbling, either. Wear time on this polish is not long. Expect to enjoy it looking it's best for an evening, for a day, for a party.
The swatch below is two thin coats of Push and Shove over one coat of Lay Down the Base base coat. As far as I know, Push and Shove won't work over any other kind of base coat. No top coat is used with this polish.
I only swatched Push and Shove on my middle and index nails because this polish shows every tiny flaw in your nails and my ring and pinkie nails are very ridged and Push and Shove just would not have looked well on those nails.
