a girly weekend

over the weekend, while the man of our house flew off for a fun guys' weekend in chicago, the tiny lady and i stayed home to (wo)man the house ourselves. and hey! i think we did a pretty fantastic job!
we wore pink. we colored the driveway with chalk and met a couple of new neighbors. we ordered pizza and officially became matron of honor flower girl on a long overdue girls' night with my best girlfriend! we ate cheesecake and watched curious george in bed. we walked in extremely high heels. (some favs that i wore to a friend's wedding saturday eve!) we carried lots of things and pushed babies in strollers and honed our mom skills all around. and mostly we made sure that our sophie kitty stayed properly stitched together, being post surgery and all. wheweeeee, bless her feline heart.
so, i'd say we survived, alright! i mean, best tiny teammate ever award goes to maddalena rose, for suuure. but! we missed our husdaddy, and there's nothing like that "dada!!!" as the baby lady is reunited with her handsome hero as he walks through the door at the end of the day, let alone a long weekend away. (those daddy greetings, ooh my gosh, they are sweeter each time!) i gave him a smooch myself, when he got home, and maybe a pat on the tush, because he is pretty darn cute. pretty darn cute, that husband of mine. :*
