Get the Look: Small Foyer (TravelingMama)

This small foyer has been my evil nemesis every since moving into our house because it is so tiny that it is hard to make the space very useful. In the mornings or when we have guests come over there is always a bit of a dance as someone tries to squeeze out the door while another tries to put their shoes on. Since putting this smaller table here, the space is so much more usable and the door opens easily. Originally when this house was built in the 1800′s the stairwell would have been a public hallway with each floor being owned by a different family, so it makes sense that this space is not very big.

We have a separate space where we can hang more coats and store shoes, so this little space is a spot for a coat or two, the keys, and boxes with gloves for the winter. I think this is the only house where we have ever had to separate our entry, but sometimes when you live in a quirky space you just have to make the best use of your space and work with what you have.
