A WEEK OF WHITEBOARD WORKOUTS.

For the first time in about a year and a half, I’ve fallen back into a workout groove. I think it’s been great for my winter hibernation. Due to my foot injury I’ve had to stop running (forever) and really limit even walking, so I’ve been primarily doing weights and swimming, two totally different activities for me. Luckily, UVM has classes in both of these this semester, which makes me glad that I fell apart post-Japan. Ha!

For years and years, I was into running, long walks, or exercise classes – NONE of which had workouts via whiteboard – but I’m getting super used to whiteboard workouts four days a week. At first, I could barely read them with all the weird abbreviations. Now I kind of like them because they remind me of recipes. Go down the list. Check check check!

Mondays and Wednesdays I lift weights.

Tuesdays and Thursdays I swim. (We’re on Butterfly stroke, which I affectionately call Drowning Dolphin.)

On a good week, I’ll get in an extra day of swimming or some yoga. Although, Mindi (and all those Olympic athlete training videos) now have me on the Pilates train. I did it once this week and HOLY CORE workout.

Do you have a workout routine? Or is life just too crazy at the moment? I’ve been on both sides before. In Japan, I didn’t have much energy or time or resources for anything except yoga….or a cold beer plopped down on the couch.
