Helloo, if you love a nice, easy, no-bake, afternoon tea, treat recipe you’ll love this Peanut Butter Slice Recipe – quick, easy, no fuss, indeed no bake. Gotta love that.
This recipe is all you need for a little afternoon soiree, when you need to take a plate and want it to be home ‘baked’ even though it’s not, or when you have people coming over and want to look like you made an effort to give them something nice.
What I do if I am taking this somewhere, is put this together and pop it into the fridge and then get some greaseproof paper or brown paper ready to wrap it in and then tie it with string and take it along….easy.
This started off life a few years ago, when someone on my Facebook page introduced me to Reeses cups. Oh my gosh I had never tried them before, in fact I don’t think I had even heard of them and so the next Friday (the day our little family get treats on the way home from school) I bought them, and there started a love affair with these little foil wrapped beauties.
And I looked around for a few recipes with that whole peanut butter chocolate combo going on, and tried a few, but really nothing cut the mustard. Then I found a recipe for a slice with peanut butter and chocolate and had a go, it was nice, but me oh my so so so sweet – you know when something is so sweet it actually goes beyond tasty with a cup of tea to more euuuuhhh?
1 cup smooth peanut butter (Woolworths macro Organic)
2 cups chocolate chips/melts
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 pack plain biscuits (I used shortcake but any sweet plain biscuits will do)
100g butter
teaspoon oil
1. melt peanut butter and butter together in a saucepan on low & when melted take off heat
2. crush the biscuits (I use a ziploc & bash with rolling pin) and add biscuits and sugar to the pan & combine
3. line a tray with baking paper and spray with oil, add the biscuit mixture and press in with a spoon
4. melt the chocolate very slowly in a pan with the oil
5. pour chocolate onto the biscuit base
6. refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes
That’s it from me, happy Friday!
Cheers
Sarah
