Gena Mani Spa Soak, Scrub and Cuticle Gel

Disclaimer: Press sample. See bottom.

At Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas, I took a tour of the American International Industries booth. It’s a behemoth, because the company has so many brands – China Glaze among them!

One of the product lines, aside from the usual suspects (China Glaze, IBD) that stood out to me was the Mani Spa line from Gena!

The light pink grapefruit-scented line is infused with argan oil, and offers a moisturizing experience.

I decided to treat myself to a mani experience at home with these three Gena products, after taking off my Bio Seaweed Gel mani that I posted about yesterday! I love using cuticle oil, but I hardly ever pamper my hands!

Soak

The Gena Soak is supposed to clean and soften hands and cuticles and prepare them for a manicure!

I got a large pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) bowl and ran warm water into it so that I could submerge my hands. I added soak, and whipped it into a foam with my fingers/hands.

Then, I soaked my hands for about eight minutes.

I took a paper towel and patted my hands dry afterwards.

Here’s the ingredients on the soak; you might not be able to read them all but it’s a peek at them:

Scrub

After I patted my hands dry post-soak, I opened up the Gena Mani Spa Scrub. It’s an exfoliating sugar scrub. I prefer sugar scrubs over salt, especially for legs; I hardly ever think to scrub my hands!

I took a bit of scrub into my hand and rubbed my hands together for a minute or so.

I like the feel of this scrub, it felt a little more finely milled than other sugar scrubs I use on my legs and body in the shower. I tried massaging the palms of my hands, too. When I was done, I rinsed my hands and again, patted them dry with a paper towel. Here’s a look at the ingredients in this scrub:

Cuticle Gel

The Hydrating Cuticle Gel piqued my interest the most. I use cuticle oil and butters and all types of things, all the time, but never a gel!

Directions recommend one drop on each nail’s cuticle, either bare or polished nails, and massage it in. In this pic you can see it massaged in on my nail to the left, and the drops on the two to the right.

It’s got an eye dropper applicator:

Here’s the ingredients – it’s hard to see them all here:

Final Thoughts

Once I finished using my at-home spa supplies, my nails and hands were clean, and my cuticles and hands were soft.

I love the idea of doing this routine every weekend before my Sunday night manicure!

Some Gena products are available at Sally Beauty Supply, and other beauty supply shops. I’m going to look at my Image Beauty supply shop. I don’t have pricing or more details on availability outside of this.

Have you ever heard of Gena products? Is this something you’d look for in your local beauty supply shop?
