A Big Thank You! (In My Own Style)

If you have read my last few posts, you know about the Better Homes and Gardens Makeover Madness Challenge. Yesterday was the final day – voting for the winner of the Final 4. With all your efforts – I WON!

Each of the 4 finalists had their photo taken with our completed and professionally photo-styled, transformed IKEA dresser when we were out in Des Moines last week.

Each makeover was truly amazing, not only the designs but in the effort to make it over in each blogger’s own style. You know how I love that – seeing personal style shine through.

KariAnne from Thistlewood Farm used metal washers and paint to make her dresser look like it came right out of the pages of a high end catalog. Jenn from My Fabuless Life transformed her dresser into a mid century modern bar complete with a flip down cabinet door to store bar essentials. Jen from City Farmhouse’s dresser had lots of pretty details. My favorite – the towel rack she made from a long machine screw attached with 2 eye screws. To make them glam – she painted them gold.

We had a fun day working together in the same room – no reality TV showdown was part of this challenge. Just DIY bloggers doing what they love, laughing and enjoying being part of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

We did not get to bring our dressers home with us, but I will post a tutorial next week on how I turned the dresser into a desk with some photos that I took with my iPhone.
