What Would You Do With This?

A few weeks ago I was asked if I would like to review an item from a new online vintage decor shop, Painted Fox Treasures. Of course I said yes and headed to the site. After looking at all the items the shop carries, I chose this vintage reproduction hardware bin. I like not only the style of the piece, but its versatility.

I want to show you the ways I came up with to use it, but also would like to find out how you would use it in your home.

It arrived on my doorstep last week. I had originally thought I would use it on my worktable in my studioffice to hold ribbons, glue sticks, and other supplies. I set the box on my kitchen table to open it. When I took it out of the box and placed it on the table, I knew immediately that I was no longer going to be using it in the studioffice. It was perfect – almost like it was meant to be on the kitchen table and on the lazy Susan I showed you last week that my dad had made.

I went around my kitchen and gathered a few items we use at the table. I was smitten. I love the lazy Susan, but did have to be careful that nothing falls off when I move it around to get items from it. No more worry with the added addition of the sectioned hardware bin.

Painted Fox Treasures specializes in hand-picked and fabulous farmhouse décor! The site has pages of unique and high quality items just like this hardware bin that will feel like they have always been a part of your home, your life, and family.

The owners, Christine and Jen will even help you track down that ‘gotta have it…special something’, and will happily special order items for you.

Even though this is a reproduction of a vintage piece, the worn patina and aged metal look and feel like the real thing. The sections in the bin are large enough to hold a few bottles, utensils, or even a vase of flowers.

While I was playing around with styling it, I discovered a surprise bonus…the metal cover around the outside can become a chalkboard! How cool is that? A way to change it up on a whim or personalize it for a dinner party.

I was having a good time coming up with other ideas on how to use it …come December it can become a vessel to display my colorful collection of Christmas ornaments.

I even tied a pretty ribbon around the handle to make it holiday ready.

It is useful and decorative – a winning combination.

Like I said…I was having fun styling it..and changed the ornaments to all white just to see how it would look.

For now, it will be staying on my kitchen table to help organize the items we use every day.

How would you use this vintage reproduction hardware bin in your home? I would love to hear your ideas.

The shop sells everything from teacups to rustic chandeliers to electric arrow signs. Farmhouse style for every room in your home.

Christine and Jen sent me this vintage tea cup, too. Perfect to enjoy a cup of tea in style while browsing their site.

If you like Rustic or Farmhouse style you will love the items they have curated.
