Feral Childe

I love that the new Feral Childe fall collection was inspired — among other things — by spirit photography, ghostly vapors, ectoplasm and 15th century German woodblock prints. It makes me happy when designers are so specific about what moved them while working on their collections, no matter how seemingly disparate the influences are to others. I adore their “Thieves” woodblock print in a dreamy silk/linen blend — such intriguing imagery and a beautiful drape. The red thieves Maisie dress, shadow thieves Maisie dress, red Thieves blouse and chalkboard thieves Old Pretender pants are all fantastic. More HERE.

“Feral Childe FW14 takes visual cues from literary classics such as “The Yellow Wallpaper” and 19th century spirit photography, set to the sonic backdrop of Satie’s Furniture Music. The collection’s spectrum of chalkboard green, ghostly vapor, and blue-gray shadow conjure up haunted ballrooms, wallpapered parlors occupied by overgrown houseplants, and hushed conversations in stairwells.”
