Paris Beauty Haul! Baby Pharmacy Goodies, Yves Rocher, Sephora, Monoprix

So I told you a few posts ago about my trip to Paris…well as always, I seem to end up hauling beauty goodies even when it isn’t my intention too. I knew I would be popping into a pharmacy on my trip and probably a Sephora, but I actually found lots of lovely goodies to buy whilst away.

Of course, I had to pop into a few French Pharmacies whilst away. They are everywhere in Paris and to be honest, quite similar in what they sell, so I didn’t bother scouring for any particular superstore type Pharmacy, I just visited the ones closest to my hotel.

They have SO many amazing skincare items for kiddies! As you may know I love getting good skincare for little H, and I ended up hauling mostly for him.

I bought a G.U.M toothbrush to buy (for 0-2 year olds) – I like how small the head is, I am thinking it might reach those little nooks and crannies?! I also bought some Uriage Cold Cream face and body moisturiser, a Bioderma cream which is for rashes around the mouth – how specific!? But kiddies to get these rashes around the mouth and Klorane Eryteal spray which is for nappy rash. This contains Zinc and came in really handy as H recently got a bit of a rash and it was FANTASTIC and should last for the next baby too. I also bought a mini Bioderma cleansing water – how cute, a version for tots!

Now, the other thing French Pharmacies are great for are bundle packs so you can stock up! I got these 3 huge Klorane 500ml body washes for around 12 Euros (sorry I forgot exactly how much) but I know they will last a while (although H is a bath fiend). You just switch the pump across as you finish bottles.

I also bought a multi pack of 2 Mustela Cleansing Waters which were also around 10 Euros and two Avene face and body creams for H, which were around 10 Euros. They also do Cleansing Milks and washes too…it’s quite hard to choose sometimes! I like cleansing waters for wiping H’s face – gentler than wipes – but I don’t use them on the bum, not if they are scented. They are also good for dried up snot. I have baby moisturisers all over the place – all kids should have juicy soft cheeks, no?!

I couldn’t not pick up something for myself, so I got the famous BiafineAct which was on offer for 4 Euros – for burns – lets hope I don’t need it, and two cans of Roche Posay SeroZinc. Even though it’s for oily and problem skins and my skin is dry, I have found it to be a really soothing, calming light mist to use.

Then we headed over to Sephora – there were 2 right beside my hotel and we also went to the store on the Champs-Elyeeses – it was hideous. So busy and they were making customers dance as they left the store – bitch, please. My legs are sore, my head hurts and I have a wound up toddler who needs a nappy change but there aren’t any changing rooms anyway on this road – so just LET ME IN.

Anyway I was pretty conservative:

I picked up a 2 in 1 Make Up Remover Gel – just because I wanted to try it, I am sure it won’t remove my super waterproof Japanese mascara, I bought 3 mini Deodorant sprays – I love this product as it’s so handy to carry around for a refresh and er, yes, sometimes on a busy day I forget to apply deodorant. I also got this cool lash tool that works as a lash guard (my short lashed sisters will relate) and a comb. It looks like it’s metal but its just cheap plastic!

Then I bought 2 mini fragrances, in Vanilla and Monoi – I have been interested in scents lately and these are cheap and cheerful.

Make up wise, I was drawn to these Sephora Cream Lip Stains. On my hand they dried to a semi matte intense finish and really lasted…I’ll have to see how it does on my lips. I bought a true red, pearly pink beige and hot pink. I also bought one eyeshadow which had my favourite combo, turquoise and bronze, a matte mineral powder foundation and a dazzling lip gloss in purple to go over my cream lip stains.

Yves Rocher always had those huge pages ‘advertorials’ in magazines when I was growing up so I associated them with being some kind of naff catalogue brand. In Paris though, I saw loads of their shops, all very elegant looking and reminiscent of The Body Shop.

I ended up buying quite a few things in there, what with my renewed interest in hair and body products.

They don’t give out bags, you have to buy a reusable one as above for about a euro.

I bought a cream cleanser based on the fact that I used it to wipe some make up off my hand and it worked a treat. I got the Velvety Cleansing Milk, and also a pump to use with it. The most expensive thing I bought was the White Botanical Anti Dark Spot serum, which was 30 Euros, but they handed me a 50% off card when I walked into the store so it went towards this. I also bought the Hydra Vegetal hydrating mask which stings my skin (!) and an eye make up remover as I am running low.

For the body I splashed out on a minty leg cream, SOS Heavy Legs, and a Camomile Body Lotion. I also got a repair balm for dry ends seeing as I have an ombre…so far I am not sure if I like it, it definitely weighs down the hair.

I also bought an eyeshadow duo in bronze and gold, a neutral wearable brown lipstick and two lip liners in a clear and red.

Monoprix is a chain store all around Paris – I ended up finding one and buying a few little things. I love cream compact foundations, so I bought this BB Cream compact to try and a Labello lip balm that looked cute! I also found a stand with these perfumes and ended up buying a few as gifts, and Baume et Bois (Balm and Wood) and Musc de Rose (Musk and Rose) for myself.

I also bought a fab black bag from Galeries Lafayette which has SO MANY POCKETS and a scarf for the winter.
Paris really is a shoppers paradise!
