Let’s talk advent calendars. I used to have a phobia of them because I always got the extremely cheap and nasty chocolate ones from the Poundshop and almost never bothered eating the chocolate.
Anyway, this year I have a few advent calendars on my wall. I am hoping this will become a nice family tradition!
My beauty advent calendar:
The Ciate Mini Mani Manor (£49) – Because for me, I have so many samples of everything the average advent calendar is just another chance to accumulate a load of stuff I will never use. BUT – when it comes to mini nail polishes, I know I am likely to get some use out of each one or at least be able to pass them to someone who might like a particular colour. Many beauty advent calendars are averaging at around £50 (Benefit’s is £60, The Body Shop’s is £50 (but aren’t TBS products ALWAYS discounted anyway?!) and No. 7’s is £35) so it just depends what you will get the most use out of!
Having said that if money was no object I would buy the beautiful Jo Malone Advent Calendar (£250) because it’s full of little treats I would definitely use.
For Baby H:
It was Lipglossiping who alerted me to this Ecoffier Duplo-brick-esque advent calendar for H. H is obsessed with little plastic figures at the moment but a lot of Playmobil and Lego calendars aren’t actually suitable for 2 year olds because the pieces are too small. This one is recommended from 18 months so it’s great for little H. It’s £15 on Amazon but if you hurry you can get it from Home Bargains for just £7.99.
There’s an offer on at the moment in M&S where you can get 2 advent calendars for £4 (I think!).
And for Mr C?
The guy just likes chocolate – any chocolate. I’ll get him a Lindt advent calendar (£5) which is a mixture of chocolate reindeers, snowdrops, truffles and milk napolitains.
