Weekend Highlights {3/3}

Happy Monday, friends! Long time, no chat? Yeah, I totally fibbed about making it back here on Friday. Lack of time and a busy work schedule got the best of me. Hey, it happens. But here’s to hoping this week is a little better/easier.

So how was the weekend? Ours was a good mix of everything and, as always, went by way too quickly. It was especially hard saying goodbye to my little man this morning, that’s for sure.

So what was on the agenda? Well, Friday night was chill, per usual. If I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure I was asleep before 10pm…party animal that I am. Saturday morning/afternoon was spent at home hanging out and doing some housework. I squeezed in an awesome workout (the total body video from one of my all time favorite workout DVD’s) and then Jay and I got ready to head out for a little double date night with our friends Kanika and Shaheen (you know, the mom and dad of Lucas’s future best bud/girlfriend).

We met up with them at New World Bistro Bar which I’d only been to once (over two years ago with blog friends), so I was excited to check out the menu and see what they had.

Ohhh my, oh my, oh my. Talk about some amazing dishes. I wound up getting their Panang Curry Bolognese at Kanika’s recommendation, and Jay got their famous Jerk Chicken. Everything was incredibly delicious, and quite spicy to boot. Whew!

Sunday was another great and busy day. The three of us lounged around a bit in the morning after getting to sleep in until about 7:15am(!!). Once Lucas went down for his morning nap, I took advantage and hit up the treadmill for a run. Check out that fun with numbers, eh?

I hadn’t done any sort of run in quite a while, and that one felt so, so awesome. I’m certainly feelin’ it today too, but I love it.

In the afternoon, I left the boys at home and headed out for a baby shower for two of my favorite people in the whole world.

Sarah and Jeff are expecting their baby boy, Chase, at the end of April so we all got together to shower them with all sort of gifts and love. The shower was at Scallions restaurant in Saratoga, which is one of my favorite spots. I’m actually shocked I’ve never gone and posted about it in all of my blogging years?!

They had a few different sandwiches of theirs to choose from so my friend Kate and I wound up going halvsies and sharing the roasted veggie panini and the raspberry chipotle turkey wrap (right?!).

Of course, there was also cake which was insanely delicious. Absolutely a highlight to my day.

Once I got home, I had a couple more hours to spend with the babe before he went down for bed. After we put him down, Jay and I watched a couple more episodes of Downton Abbey (why I did not watch the Oscars, I’m really not sure…I was totally looking forward to watching Ellen) while I worked on typing up Lucas’s 7 month post.

I worked on said post for almost an hour and a half, but please notice, however, that I have no link to it for you today. Want to know why? Ohh, that’s because my Windows Live Writer decided to crash pretty much right when I finished the post. Yes…it took every ounce of me to not take my computer and throw it across the room. And then I wanted to kick myself for not once hitting the save button during that entire team. Good grief.

Soooo anywho…I should have that post put back together by tomorrow. But my PSA for today? Save your work as you go.

Have a great day, everyone!
