Recent Outfits & How to Get the Best Deals this Holiday Season
I am SO excited to share today’s post with you guys because I have a feeling that this is something that is going to become extreeeeeeemely handy for a LOT of you. And, well, super awesome giveaway alert!
But first things first, you guys should know by now…I love to shop. I’ve never claimed to be a grand fashionista, but I love clothes.
A recent casual Friday outfit
- Scarf: Old Navy (they have a good selection now)
- Sweater: Clearance rack at JCPenney years ago (seriously, snagged it for $4.98!)
- Jeans: Gap Outlet
- Boots: Kaylor Slouchy boots
A recent weekday work outfit
- Sweater: Old Navy (from 2011!)
- Pants: Sloan Ankle Pant via Banana Republic Outlet (similar and similar via Banana)
- Boots: Enzo Angliolini Black Suede Booties (similar, similar)
- Necklace: Claire’s (from a few years ago)
But as you guys can also probably see by now, I don’t tend to be a huge spender when it comes to my clothes either. I never shop (for clothes) without a coupon or coupon code, and I get absolutely giddy when I score myself a good deal (hellooo, Black Friday!!).
So now, let me ask you guys a couple of questions…
How many of you enjoy shopping online?
How many of you try to search for coupon codes when you purchase online or just keep checking back until the item(s) you’re looking at go on sale?
How many of you would claim to be “bargain” shoppers?
I, for one, can say yes to all three above. And I yell at Jay when he goes to make a purchase online without searching for a coupon code because, why not check? I mean, you can’t always find something but it’s worth a try!
But there’s this new (to me) website that I recently heard about that takes on all of that legwork for you: PoachIt.
Once you sign up and start following items, PoachIt automatically finds and displays coupons that work, so you can “poach” what you want. If you’re not quite ready to buy right then and there, they’ll track that product and email you once it goes on sale.
So How Do You Get Started??
The first thing you’ll want to do is create an account (it’s free!). Once you do that, you’ll want to get the PoachIt Button so it displays right in your browser bar.
OR, you can download the app so you can Poach on the go from your phone.
Either way, you’ll always have the button or app available in case you’re shopping online and decide to start following an item.
While you have the webpage open of an item you want to start following, all you need to do is click your PoachIt Button. From there, it will ask you to select the image relevant to what you want to poach, and you can choose to track it normally, or track it privately (good for if you’re holiday shopping!).

Here’s a look at some of the items I’ve recently been following…
So through PoachIt, I’ve been tracking those above items and waiting for price drop alerts and/or access to coupon codes (that are always valid!) across the web. The first email alert I actually got was for the HUE leggings that I told you all I bought a couple of weeks ago…
It was just a simple email saying “Yo! Your item is on sale!” and just like that, a purchase was made. Easy peasy!
They also have pages that will show “Today’s Best Deals” which can be incredibly dangerous…

PoachIt also supports over 5,000 stores, including some popular sites like Shopbop, Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropologie.
I mean, can you imagine how handy this is going to be for holiday shopping and, especially, Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals?? It can get so tough to try to keep track of all the deals that are happening…there are SO many!
I’m really excited to see what kind of sales pop up for a few other items that I’ve poached too, but I’m tracking them privately since there are certain people who may wind up reading this post and I don’t want them seeing anything.
But either way, I’m pretty sure I’ll be snagging those deals (hopefully) from the comfort of my home, without having to waste the time heading out and braving the crowds.
