What Marlowe Eats - Feeding A Vegan Kid (It's Baaaaaaack)

What Marlowe Eats. Yes, it's back. After much debate, I'm re-introducing it to the blog. It won't be a weekly thing--- but maybe maybe bi-weekly. We'll see. I'll be totally honest here, I decided to do this about two weeks ago--- but I just kept forgetting to take pictures of her meals!

I guess, what I noticed is that a lot of people make a switch to being vegan and assume a vegan chicken nugget is going to put them on a healthy scale--- it won't. I wanted to be able to come in and share some of our meals hoping to maybe help people struggling with food ideas (vegan or not). And *hopefully* provide a bit food inspiration (for kids or even adults). We aren't raw-foodies, or gluten free, or completely sugar free either, so I'm not trying to say we're health gods over here (we're not), but I do know we eat pretty well, and very low to no processed stuff, so if this even helps one family or one person skip a fast food or processed meal, I'm happy about it.

But it's good to note that it's likely that each image is just one meal from one day. Some meals will be super healthy, some will be junky-- there's always a good mix going on over here, but if anything, keeping it well-balanced is key. And not completely, but mostly un-processed.
As always, I'll be sure to mention if Marlowe picked something out and absolutely hated it. And as always, I want to keep it real around here. So hey, you will *every once in a while* see a plate of nachos or (a lot of) pizza for lunch. Balance balance balance. Have questions on the food? Just ask. I'll link recipes when I can or I'll let you know if we (the adults) ate something similar and Marlowe's meal was modified to be more kid friendly and separate from ours--- though these days, she just eats what we eat, minus the hot sauce ;)
She's a "medium kid" now--- (not a little kid, guys), but if you want to see the older early toddler meals, check them out HERE.

biscuits and mushroom gravy.

calentado made with black rice, avocado.

chickpea salad, extra carrots.

lentil and six veggie shepard's pie. (recipe will be in book!)

not fabulous looking, but a decent "we're running out of food in the fridge" kale, carrot, and red sauce lasagna with cashew cheese.

smokey white bean, tomato, kale soup with forbidden rice.

nachos yo. (she doesn't eat the salsa)
