Things I’m Loving Friday #40

Happy Fourth of July!!!

The Fourth of July is always on of my favorite holidays. Even though nothing will top last year’s Fourth of July, I think we’ll have a fun holiday this year, too. Ryan’s friend Eric drove in town from Ocala last night to stay with us for the weekend and we’ll be spending most of the day at Brittany’s house on the lake boating, barbequing and watching the fireworks. Sadie is already psyched for hours of running around outside and swimming in the lake with Brittany’s vizsla, Koda.

Now let’s move right along to your regularly scheduled blog post and chat about what we’re loving this week!

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • Burst Mode

I first learned about the the “burst mode” on my iPhone when I was in Utah earlier this year. The adventure bloggers who were on the trip to Park City with me knew a thing or two about capturing in-motion pictures with their camera phones and utilized burst mode all the time. Burst mode takes a bunch of pictures in rapid succession so you can get the shot you want of an active subject. (I used it for the photo of Ryan flipping above and frequently use it to get a good picture of Sadie.)

At first I thought I was the only one who didn’t know about burst mode, but I’ve since told at least 10 people about it who were also in the dark, so I figured it was worth sharing! (FYI, I think this may only work on the newer versions of the iPhone.) To use burst mode, bring up the camera and then press down on either the shutter release button (the white circle) on the screen or the volume-up key on your iPhone. Then choose your favorite picture(s) from the series of pictures you took to save to your camera roll!

If you need a laugh this morning, read the above ad on craigslist.

  • #ThingsTimHowardCouldSave

Even though the United States is not advancing in the World Cup, one good thing that came out of their final game against Belgium was the #ThingsTimHowardCouldSave hashtag. Our goalie is incredibly talented and setting the record for the most number of saves in any World Cup gave ever earned Tim Howard a lot of well-deserved praise. And a bunch of hilarious photoshopped pictures of himself “saving” impossible things.

My favorite:

Mufasa!!!

By now you guys know how much I love traveling. The above article on CNN.com did nothing to quell my desire to constantly explore new areas. The beautiful photography in the article highlights one natural wonder in each of the United States. It’s gorgeous and caused me to add more than a few new destinations to my travel bucket list.

Remember when I went to NYC for the Reebok Skyscape launch party? Well ever since then, I’ve been wanted a more muted pair of the Skyscapes to wear for running around town. I finally bit the bullet and got them in gray last week and have worn them every single day!

Though I love bananas, I really dislike banana flavored foods so I was shocked when I sampled a handful of Ryan’s granola earlier this week and thought it was delicious. It doesn’t taste artificial (I can thank the lack of artificial flavoring for that, I suppose!) and I love the addition of the crunchy walnuts and almonds.
