A Very Happy Halloween

Good morning! How are you guys doing today? I am riding the weekend high after one heck of a fabulous time in Savannah.

Just before noon on Friday, Ryan, my friends Merri and Ashley and I piled into my car and made the four-hour drive to Savannah to kick off Kaitlyn and Kailon’s wedding weekend. We all stayed in a big house together with a bunch of our other best friends from college (10 of us in total) and it was so much fun. Renting a giant house gave us much more time together since we were able to all wake up together, get ready together, etc. It was perfect!

We arrived at the house on Friday with just enough time to change into our Halloween costumes and head out to Kaitlyn and Kailon’s rehearsal dinner which was actually one giant Halloween party open to all of their wedding guests.

As you already know if you follow me on Instagram, Ryan and I went as Sheldon and Amy (Shamy!), two of our favorite hilariously nerdy characters from the TV show Big Bang Theory.

The costumes we wore were incredibly comfortable and pretty darn easy to put together! I found Ryan’s t-shirt on Amazon and bought most of my outfit from Marshalls and Target. Cutting and straightening out my cheap-o brunette wig was the most challenging part, but we made it work!

Once our group was dressed and ready to go, we hopped in a bunch of pedicabs and made our way to the big house the bride and grooms’ families rented for the party.

We immediately ran into the bride who was dressed in the most amazing costume.

RUFIOOOOOOOO!!!!!

(My friend Merri was Freddie Krueger.)

Her groom-to-be was Captain Hook!

Their families were so kind and provided southern favorites for everyone to enjoy for dinner (macaroni and cheese, pulled pork, etc.) and had an open bar, great music and delicious cake!

(Love Ryan’s Sheldon face in that pic!)

Everyone put their all into their costumes and I felt like everywhere I looked I ran into someone whose costume blew me away! Kaitlyn’s mom and her aunts took the top prize in my eyes for their fabulous Sanderson sisters costumes from the movie Hocus Pocus.

Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation was another favorite! (He even brought the piping from when Eddie emptied his trailer and said his famous “sh*tter’s full” line!)

Before the night was over, Kaitlyn and Kailon took the mic and gave some unbelievably hilarious speeches that set the mood for what ended up being one of the most creative and fun weddings I have ever attended. Kaitlyn and Kailon are two of the funniest people I have ever met in my life and their wedding weekend truly felt like them from start to finish. It’s hard to top a Halloween party rehearsal dinner, but somehow they did the next day!

Wedding recap to come!
