UK Monthly Subscription Boxes I Need To Explore

For the longest time, I was only aware of Glossy Box and Birch Box, I had no idea there were other UK monthly subscription boxes, or even subscription boxes that ship to the UK! So I did a little Google search and came across All Subscription Boxes which has a lot of different boxes listed both from the UK and abroad. I’m not sure I want to pay for the postage cost of a box from abroad, so I’m going to focus on the subscription boxes in the UK that I do want.

I used to be subscribed to Glossy Box before I thought I was going to spend a few months in Australia so I cancelled. I also had to cancel the trip but I didn’t resubscribe to Glossy Box because honestly, I’m not really that big on beauty, I like it, but I’m more interested in something else. So I won’t be covering them in this post, besides, everyone already knows about the beauty boxes!

GeekGasm

A monthly box full of geeky things? Uh, yes please! I really don’t know what more to say about this box except the idea sells itself and I want one NOW.

Bronze – contains at least five goodies, £18.99 £2.99 p&p.
Silver – this one contains at least six items, £22.99 £2.99 p&p.

InkDrops Ace Box

Who doesn’t love spending an hour inside a stationery shop? How about the stationery shop comes to you!

Ink Drops curates and delivers beautiful parcels of stationery. It’s like a selection box of chocolates (not in a box!), but with cards, papers, notelets and other things to make your handwritten correspondence stand out. They offer a monthly subscription, and a variety of themed parcels for immediate dispatch.

£11.95 P&P (approximately £3.50).

Flowbox

I’m not vegan, but I do like vegan food and I am environmentally aware so this box, well, ticks a lot of boxes for me. I also feel like we need to raise more awareness on cruelty free and chemical free products that perform just as well as their mainstream counterparts. I think a lot of people would like to go cruelty/chemical free but feel that they don’t perform as well, hopefully this box will go some way to changing that idea.

The Flowbox concept centres around providing you with 8-10 eco products every month which meet one or more criteria to qualify them for inclusion in the box. The 8 criteria are organic, fair-trade, environmentally friendly, gluten free, vegan, chemical free, cruelty free and community or people positive. This wide range give them a lot of room to provide interesting products for those who’d like to have a more positive impact on the planet, or live a healthier life.” £21.95 / month including delivery.

BiteToSavour

This is a seasonal box of locally produced food and things. So you get one box every season. I like this idea because if you’ve spent any time at your local fair or farmers market, you will know, locally produced can rival anything you buy in a store! This is definitely a box I would try once off to see what’s included and I think it would also make a wonderful welcome gift to anyone who’s just moved to the UK.

We source locally produced products that are carefully selected by our tasting team and send them to you through our seasonal subscription (spring, summer, autumn and winter) so you can experience and discover new flavours and products throughout the year. We are also dedicated in helping passionate small producers get products onto the market.

One-off trial box: £25, including postage.

Seasonal subscription (4 boxes, one every season): £100, including postage.

PurrBox

So, I am a cat person and I adore my cat, so a box of treats for my cat is intriguing, altho I’m not sure if I would subscribe to it, which is fine as they do offer it as just a gift option – which would be awesome if someone you know got their first cat! I am slightly swayed by the promise of catnip in every box since my cat has a bit of an addiction…

When you sign up for PurrBoxes, every month you will receive a monthly cat box in the mail with four or more carefully selected products and presents for your cat – specially selected toys and treats along with a month’s supply of cat grass and catnip!

One-off box: £9.95 £1.99 delivery.

Monthly subscription: £9.95 with free delivery.

There are plenty monthly food boxes from local farms providing fresh produce, to companies curating independent products, you only need to do a quick Google search to find them all, but I’m more interested in the more unique subscription boxes. I also think these boxes are a fantastic idea, especially if you wanted to start a home business. I’m sure in an afternoon of brain storming you could come up with just about anything to make into a subscription box! Think niche and you’ll be onto a winner I’m sure.

Do you subscribe to a monthly box of goodies? What do you love about it and would you try any of the ones I’ve mentioned? Also, do tell me about any fun and unique boxes I don’t yet know about, I’m going to get a different box every month for the next few months and review them all!

If you have a subscription box you would like me to review, please get in touch!
