Do You Make Badass Clothing, Jewelry or Accessories? The Morbid Fashion is Looking For You!

Launching early October 2012 is a brand new online store from The Morbid Fashion!

The best part is that the store will be stocked entirely with designs from independent companies, designers, artists and artisans.

I truly believe that the meat of your wardrobe should consist of pieces bought from independent creators. These pieces not only help to support artists and the arts in general, but they also add a unique flavor to your everyday clothing.

This is why we (my husband and I) want to create a place for artists to sell their creations that is also a place for people looking to find independently created items.

Also, the store is going to be featuring some of the best, darkest designers and pieces that fit the Grown-up Gothic aesthetic that we can find. Which is pretty awesome if you ask me.

Here is where you, my loyal readers, come in…

We need submissions from artists and creative types!

What kind of products are you looking to sell?

LOTS actually! Here are the ones that come to my mind, but if you make something that is not on the list that you truly believe would appeal to the Grown-up Goth aesthetic then please submit it anyway.

  • Clothing (T-shirts, leggings, hoods, etc.)
  • Jewelry (Fine jewelry, costume jewelry and jewelry featuring original artwork)
  • Bags (tote-bags and more elaborate bags are welcome)
  • Art Prints (and originals that fit the grown-up Gothic style)
  • Hair Accessories
  • Home Decor Accessories
  • Stationary
  • Cosmetics (eye shadow, nail polish, etc.)
  • Perfume
  • Candles
  • Soap
  • … and whatever other goodies you can come up with that fit in with the grown-up Gothic aesthetic. (If you’re not sure, submit it anyway!)
Tell me more about the store!

We want to sell mostly exclusive items, limited edition items or collaborative (between The Morbid Fashion & the designer/artist) items in the store.

Why, you ask?

We don’t want this store to compete with the online stores and sales that the artist/designer already has. Groovy idea, huh? I thought so.

There will also be artist profiles for each artist/designer that has items for sale in the store. We will also have a blog and Facebook fan page where we will do interviews with our artists/designers about their work, their influences, their favorite pieces in the store, etc. I also want to put together a lot of outfit posts featuring the things sold in the store to give everyone ideas.

Also there will be built-in promotion for your work. Between the readers of this blog, the fans of each designer/artist that we sell with and the promotion we will be doing for the store it will make your promotional life a lot easier!

How to submit your work!
  1. Send me an email: [email protected] or use the contact form below.
  2. In your email give me links to your portfolio, online store or other examples of your work.
  3. Tell me what types of products or variations of products you would like to sell in my store.
  4. Give me an estimate on your typical turnaround time (from the time I email you the order information to the time you are mailing out the product to the customer).
  5. Tell me if you can’t mail out packages to customers on a regular basis and would rather we handle shipping orders for you.
  6. Where are you located? We don’t need your exact address, but a city/state or city/country are a must.
  7. Which countries can you ship your products to? (Are you US only? Do you ship worldwide? Will you ship only to Europe/US/UK/Canada/Ireland/Scotland/New Zealand/Australia?)

You can also include something about yourself, what you like about your work, what makes your work unique and the title of your favorite book or movie if you’d like.

(contact-form-7) ———-

Overall, I am super excited about doing this store and being able to work so closely with designers and artists.

I can’t do it alone though, I need you guys to submit your work or send the link to this to friends of yours that create awesome things!

I’ll be making regular updates about the store in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for that.

My excited faces.
