ME Issues Findings On QVC Queen Joan Rivers’ Death

We’re behind on our blogging, family issues, but just wanted to note that the New York City ME had released a cause of death for QVC queen Joan Rivers.

The comedian’s death was the result of a “therapeutic complication,”
meaning that “the death resulted from a predictable complication of medical therapy,” according the New York Daily News.

Rivers was at a clinic in the Yorkville section of Manhattan undergoing an endoscopy on Aug. 28 when she went into cardiac and respiratory arrest, cutting off oxygen to her brain.

The doctor performing the procedure allegedly did an unauthorized biopsy on Rivers’ vocal cords. Rivers died Sept. 4.

We don’t know why death from a routine medical procedure would be described as a “predictable complication,” but there you go.

Word is that Joan’s daughter plans to sue.
