New Kid On The Block

Aloha Sprinklerinos,
Cast your mind back to THIS post where I mentioned having another step aboard the good ship glitter? Well guys and gals, set off the fireworks, that time has come. After lots of thought, discussions and a trip up to Liverpool for a big mapping out meeting, FAYE is our new gal! Woop!

Faye and I met many, many moons ago on our first day at University, outside a hotel lift. Our halls had some maintenance issues so the firm that owned them had put us up in an awful hotel and our first day looked set to be dismal. After an obligatory cry in my room, I decided to brave it and go for a wander. I pressed the button for the lift and out popped Faye and her parents, on their way to her room. She said, 'Hi! Are you a fresher? Have you met anyone yet?'. I said, 'Yep, first day and no, nobody!'. And that was that. We were the best of friends and ended up living peacefully (for the most part- remind me to one day tell you The Argument Of The Bin Bags, it was epic) together for four years.
We've seen each other through crazy nights out, birthdays, boy dramas, shopping extravaganzas, midnight cries, morning jogs (or at least the promise of them), engagements, hen do's, weddings, pregnancies and new homes. You could say, she's a good'un and we can trust her.
After surviving living with me (and mothering me, I can't cook remember!) for all those years, Faye now lives with her Husband Craig and teeny tiny new Baby Boy, JR, in Liverpool. Fortunately for us, a lot of our family live up there so it's not too hard to meet up for brunches and lunches with our little ones. Yay.

Faye is going to be writing 6-8 posts a month for Sprinkle of Glitter, focusing primarily on parenting, recipes and a couple of the monthly posts we see regularly on here. This means my time is more free to work on my YouTube Channels, squeezing my little lady and a couple of other projects I have in the pipeline (ohhh mysterious).
So, let's hand over to Faye and find out a little more.
Sprinklerinos, meet Faye. Faye, meet the Sprinklerinos. You'll like each other.

Faye, are you excited to join the team? What are you most looking forward to? I am so excited to be coming aboard the very lovely Glitter ship. Thank you for the introduction. Having seen how hard you've worked over the past few years to make Sprinkle of Glitter such a wonderful blog I am honoured to have been invited to be part of the team. I'm looking forward to meeting the lovely Sprinklerinos, tempting taste buds with some delicious recipe's and sharing a bit of my life now I'm a Wife and Mama.
I know you're very busy with your teensyweensy, will he mind me borrowing his Mama for some blog time?

Well he's currently sleeping in my left arm whilst I type one handed so I don't think he'll mind and he loves cuddles with his Aunty Lou so face to face blog meetings are an added bonus in his shnuggle schedule. Seriously though when you asked me to contribute to Sprinkle of Glitter I knew it would be the perfect project for me to work on whilst I was on maternity leave. You know me Soup, I love to be busy and I'm very lucky that I have been blessed with an easy going baby (touching wood so as not to jinx my good fortune), I'll be baking, photographing and writing in the downtime I have during JR's naps and in the evening when he shares important bonding time with his Daddy, so it's the ideal fit for us. Plus I'm sure many of your Sprinklerino mama's will agree maternity leave and getting to know your new baby is amazing but we need some adult conversation every now and then too!

To give readers a little more insight into our relationship, would you share some of your favourite Soup&Faye stories and also where 'Soup' came from?

Ohhh yes we best explain the 'Soup' reference.Well Sprinklerino's it went a bit like this, many years ago Louise's nickname (from her Dad I think) was Loopy Lou. Loop sounds like Soup so I began to call her Soup de Loop that then got shortened to just Soup and well, stuck (best friends who make and feed you cheese toasties any time of day or night can do that).

Many times over the years of our friendship we've been there for each other. I gave Louise the best advice she's ever received- 'DON'T put your knife in the toaster!!' and she asked a guy to go on a date with me when I wasn't brave enough to ask him myself (he's now my husband and JRs Daddy).

We've had many a merry night out and always without fail dancing to the super wonderful Dolly Parton's 9 to 5. Sprinklerino's, we can be in any part of the pub, club or wedding venue speaking to a long lost relative, finally getting served or making it to the front of the toilet queue but when we hear that intro we hot foot our backsides to the dance floor, find each other and our girls and sing and dance like there's no tomorrow. It is romantically or rather not, our song!!

And so, a beautiful partnership was born. Faye is going to be sticking around for a few months so please do show her so much sparkly love in the comments and give her a warm welcome. You'll know who wrote each blog post by the 'contributor' name at the bottom of the post. Simples.
Alrighty, I hope you are as excited for this month as I am and Faye, I'm so glad to be working with you!
Toodlepip!
