The World War II satchel

I’ve been on the hunt for a simple satchel style bag for a while now. Just something very basic that I could throw my essentials in for the weekend!

The bf & I went along to a vintage fair near Crouch End on Saturday & I picked up this original World War II bag. It has a date stamped inside 1941. I love historical items but especially ones that you can still get regular use out of & this bag is no exception. Love the leather & canvas mix.

It was only when I got home & started to do a bit of research that I discovered this bag was actually designed by the Swedish army for…gas masks! Kind of creepy now…eeep!
