SURVIVING SUMMER

It can be tough trying to have a summer in this weather. Usually, summer time is renowned for celebrating events outdoors. We’re all used to the idea of weddings, summer BBQs with old friends all happening under a gorgeous sunset and a welcome gentle breeze. Summer 2012 doesn’t quite seem to have heard our pleas for sunshine, which has left us in a difficult predicament when choosing wedding outfits , summer evening wear and Prom Dresses. We all know how difficult it can be to stay positive about hosting or attending an outdoor event when there’s no guarantee of sunshine. But there’s no point letting it ruin your fun. Take a look at our top tips on how to survive an evening do, come rain or shine.

Firstly, if you’re going to a wedding, it’s not as acceptable to pull on a hoodie should things get a bit chilly. You’ll have to work a bit harder to keep warm and look hot if you’re at a formal do. You can do this seamlessly though – buy a bolero or shrug that matches your dress. For me I would love to buy a blazer or jacket for matches my dress. It depend of your own style. It’s important to try to get in the mindset of thinking of it as a necessity, not an accessory. A hat may also provide protection from the elements should it decide to rain. Amazing and edge hat will catch people attention. If you are at a wedding this summer, and rain does decide to pay a visit, try your hardest not to show the discomfort on your face to the bride, as I’m sure she’ll be feeling more self-conscious than ever about it!

If you’re catching up with old friends and planning on eating al-fresco, the UK isn’t always on your side. Your best choice in this situation is to tailor your outfit to both needs: your style, and also the elements. We would suggest a maxi-dress, as their length means your legs are covered should it get a bit chilly. Why not opt for a maxi with a summery print, such as pastel colours or bright colours, to get that summer-time vibe without catching a chill!. Complete the outfit with a edge jacket or even a warm knit to make sure you showcase your individual style and are prepared for any turn for the worse the weather may take.
