A Giveaway at Vignette Design & Gorgeous Transferware Table Settings
I am guessing that many of you already know Delores, at Vignette Design, but if not, I am honored to make the introduction for you. I 'met' Delores at least 10 years ago via Ebay, around the time I first began selling English transferware. She was one of my first customers and we then reconnected years later through blogging. In fact, I think we followed each others blogs and then realized we already had a connection!
We are both lovers and collectors of transferware!
Delores has been kind of enough to host a giveaway on her blog to my shop, Nancy's Daily Dish, so I hope you will go visit and enter to win a $50 gift card. She has one of the most absolutely stunning homes with breathtaking, wine country views from the comfort of her back yard, and is an excellent decorator and tablescaper….one of my very, very favorites in all of blogland. I can (do) spend hours perusing her blog posts like I'm thumbing through pages of one of my favorite magazines or decorating books.
Delores encapsulates every design element I love to see in a table-scape; a mix of textures, patterns and color creating a warm, inviting but luxurious mood. I can't get enough of her style!
Below are a few of her fabulous tablescapes she has created in and around her home, most of these with transferware, and one at a winery that I could not resist including.
First, is this outdoor table set against the hilly wine country she is fortunate enough to see every day.
Delores loves majolica as well and I love her use of it with transferware and other elements. She combines the two alot in her tablesettings. The red chintz transferware plates are Johnson Brothers. The egg cups…just too cute. I want those chicken wire chargers! I have some of the same goblets in red and amber.
Anything tartan works for me. But this setting and view, oh my…see…I told you she has the most breathtaking views of the wine country!
Royal Doulton Pomeroy…one of my favorite patterns and currently the everyday dishes at my house. I have those same goblets too! It's such a colorful, cheery pattern! It looks good with so many colors…here Delores paired it with red and green.
Olde English Countryside, another Johnson Brothers pattern I love. This pattern features a charming village in rural England complete with a row of thatched roof cottages. These were our everyday dishes for a long time as well. They are pretty neutral but pops of color are easy to add, like Delores did here with the lavender Goblets. I love the bamboo flatware….I have a set as well!
And Rural Scenes…one of my all time favorites. If you know me you know I love it and I collect it as well. I love this pattern and LOVE this table!
Mason's Fruit Basket. Another cheerful pattern that comes in several different colorways. I love the green that Delores has and love how she pairs so many of her place settings with natural looking elements and majolica. Don't you love the corn holders too?
Ok, so there is no transferware in this pic…but I had to share. Who wouldn't love to have been a guest at this table in one of the wineries nearby??? I love this setting and love Delores's use of layering fabrics and cloths.
