dark tropical florals and lush greens

Hello! A quick outfit post today, while I'm in the middle of organising house sitters (check!) and packing (erm) before we leave for Europe one week from today. I had my first butterflies-in-the-tummy moment about it last night... it's actually happening!

So, here I am, the day after the pale pink and black combo. I'm really enjoying wearing heavier colours now, especially dark florals, and mixing up the summer things a bit. I've had this super colourful cotton top for a few years and I love it – but, despite its colourful-ness, it doesn't go with many of my skirts. It does work well with this dark olive pencil skirt, so hooray for that. I'm also getting back in to wearing ballet flats during the day again, now it's cooler. Loving the freedom and comfort, even if these ones do squeak when I walk. (I feel like the guy that had the frog in Ally McBeal, and this may just be my one sartorial nod to the 1990s.)

Some more hi-larious posing in the strong Australian sunlight! I've realised everything I'm wearing is from op shops over the years, except for the shoes which are from Rubi Shoes. They were a bit of a cheapy gamble, but they are really comfortable and are (touch wood) lasting pretty well so far, so it seems to have paid off. Oh, wait, the sunglasses are from Forever New. I treat my sunglasses very badly and never lose or damage them, so might just be ready to progress to fanceh ones!

I am so happy right now, even if things are a bit of a rush. In fact I seem to prefer things that way! Happy hump day!
