Easter Kids Craft Idea: Paper Plate Easter Animals

Easter and spring time is such a great time to create with kids, I love all the fun shapes and animals that are to create. It's just so fun! Plus all the bright colors are fabulous!!

My kids LOVE to paint, especially my 5 year old. When I try to do paper crafts, he doesn't seem to care about them (unless there is a lot of glue or scissors involved). I actually love to let my kids paint because they can really be creative. Whenever they paint their projects they come out so differently. Instead of just a plain color of card stock to make something. Plus they get to get messy and paint and they absolutely love that. Paper plates are one of my favorite surfaces to let them create with. You can turn the circle into lot of different things, including Easter animals and an Easter egg.

We took some paper plates, cut out some bunny ears and then used some kid craft supplies.
I just let me kids go at with the paint. I was very surprised by their different techniques. My son did circles to color his plate.
My daughter has a more random technique. She told me that she was painting in a square shape when she was painting the whole plate one color. Both techniques worked out great.
They both had a great time. I gave them paint and they created their own original paintings, just like famous artists do. Once they painted the plates and it all dried, we just glued some pom poms and pipe cleaners onto the plates to make them into the animals.
And here is how they turned out, aren't they fun?! Here are the bunnies.
And here are the ducks (or chicks).
And lastly we made some eggs. I just cut the shape out of the paper plate once the paint was dry.
