"I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

A girls' trip to Porvoo yesterday,
where the cobbled streets were surprisingly empty for once
and the sun and trees dripped in gold.

Plenty of space in the toyshop
(that's usually jam-packed with kids and adults alike)
to carefully mull over something little to take home.

Jumping in piles of leaves
outshines any bouncy castle.

Today she's been busy rearranging her doll's house
while I've been sipping on my Lapsang souchong -souvenir tea.
I fell for its smoky flavour in England in the summer
and have been meaning to stock up ever since.
(A tea you either love or loathe, I hear.)

Eilen tehtiin tyttöjen retki Porvooseen.
Mukulakivikadut olivat yllättävän hiljaisia,
aurinko ja puut kultaa.
Riimikossakin oli kerrankin tilaa
valita vakaasti ja harkiten.
Lehtikasat päihittivät pomppulinnat
mennen tullen.
Tänään on sitten tyttö rymsteerannut nukkekotiaan
ja äiti siemaillut Lapsang souchong -tuliaisteetä,
jonka savuiseen maun pauloihin jäin viime Englannin matkalla.
