MAC Cosmetics’ Newest Store Opening with Madison Beer! #MACSelfie

Can I get some props for my insane turnaround time? I got to attend the very cool opening of MAC’s Florida Mall location with recording artist Madison Beer…yesterday. YES. I went yesterday and managed to get a post up today. I am impressed with myself.

Also impressive is this new location. Ohmigoodness y’all. Yes, the Florida Mall has had a MAC location for many years but Orlando is the getting the first ever youth concept store. Because of its C-shaped and open environment design, consumers will have the opportunity to really get up close and personal with the products.

There is a looooong table in the store where you can casually stroll by and pick up this shadow, swatch this liner, remove it all and start over again. As always, the stunning and helpful MAC artists are there to answer all questions. You really need to see this store in person to get an idea of how fantastic it is. I think it will be a huge hit and I hope MAC gives us more of these stores nationwide and worldwide.

So in honor of the store’s opening, the very talented singer Madison Beer came out to chat with some of us bloggers and do selfies with her fans!

Margaret from Beauty and the Beat and I both got to chat with Madison and for being only 15 years old, the girl has serious style and poise. She’s such a sweetheart! Of course she’s an enormous MAC Cosmetics fan and when I asked her to pick between a red and pink lipstick, she picked…pink! Rihanna is her makeup idol and she schooled me on how to achieve those dark and luscious lashes of hers. She says that applying the mascara on top can really bring out the lashes. I loved to hear her say one of her tips to younger makeup lovers is to keep it simple; to not cake on makeup and to still aim for a natural look. I absolutely agree and it was so refreshing to know that not ALL teenage girls feel the need to pile on the makeup.

Shortly after our interviews, one lucky fan got the opportunity to get a signed copy of Madison’s album AND she got her makeup done by Madison.

This girlie could not have been more adorable. She couldn’t stop smiling and had such a good time letting her favorite singer do her makeup! And because it’s 2014 and it’s what everyone does, selfies happened!

For a minute I kinda wanted to be 15 again. Maybe. Eh. I don’t know. Kinda?

While Madison continued to take selfies with the loooooong line of fans outside of the store, I got a chance to chat with MAC Cosmetics Artist Florida Mall, Desiree Rodriguez.

Desiree is everything. She’s ridiculously talented, knowledgeable about her stuff and is such a fantastic teacher. She had me feelin’ like I too could achieve her iconic winged liner. Mmmm. We’ll see. She also had Margaret and me falling in love with Lady Danger lipstick (Desiree’s favorite lipstick of all time) and she gave Margaret’s brows such a beautiful fix.

But really it was Mina of MinaSlater.com’s transformation that really made me happy. This gorgeous girl doesn’t wear red lipsticks! I am on a mission to get every woman to at least TRY red lipstick and when Desiree picked up Viva Glam Rihanna for Mina, I just knew some magic would happen. And it did.

Let this be a lesson to you, girls. WEAR RED LIPSTICK! Haha, I’m kidding. Not really, though.

I am so so excited for this new layout! The Florida Mall is such an ideal location because of the tourist traffic and its convenient location – right next to the Food Court! I tend to shop at a MAC store closer to my home, but I don’t know…I’m thinkin’ this location is worth the trip.
