Lustik Tumblr The last time you may recall seeing such detail at such a small scale was with
this Wednesday Whim post. This series of art features Cape Town artist,
Lorraine Loots and her beautiful miniature paintings. Starting January 1, 2013
Lorraine Loots embarked on an artistic challenge to paint a miniature piece of art
every single day. Working only with paint brushes, pencils, a steady hand and an eye for detail, the project evolved into a second phase (
365 Postcards for Ants) in celebration of Cape Town for the
World Design Capital 2014.
Her ability to capture an insane amount of detail and perspective on such a reduced scale is awe inducing. If you like what you see, you can get on that
waiting list of hers to obtain a painting or a limited edition "postcard." But, you have to act quickly since many spots are already reserved.
You can catch up with more of her work on her
Facebook and
Instagram and see her 2013 art on her
Tumblr archive.
