Tyra Banks Launches a Beauty Line

Remember a while back when Tyra Banks enrolled at Harvard Business School? Turns out the supermodel and America's Next Top Model maven was cooking up her own self-funded cosmetics line, TYRA Beauty, which she just launched last week. And for the outspoken Banks—who claims "without makeup, I would have never been a supermodel"—the mission is clear: to help us mere mortals create catwalk-worthy cheekbones, enormous eyes and luscious lips. "I believe makeup is the great beauty equalizer," she says.

Her lineup of high-tech, user-friendly products ($24–$32) might not land you a contract but they're definitely worth adding to your cosmetics bag. A range of stick-based makeup called "TYover" includes face contour ($24), highlighter ($26) and eye shadow ($24) that all boast foolproof dome-shaped applicators and proprietary glide-on formulas.
The "Smize Collection" aims to help you nail Tyra's trademark "smiling eyes" with a blue-black mascara ($28) and a nifty eyeliner ($26) with a built-in makeup corrector. And the editorially-inspired "It Factory Collection" is all about high-shine lip colors, such as this two-sided applicator ($32).
